BAIT ALLOWANCE, RESTRICTIONS AND MATCH RULES
BAIT ALLOWANCE:
A total allowance of 5 pints per 5 hour match. Hook bait is not included in 5 pint limit - there is no restriction on the amount of hook bait that can be used.
BAIT RESTRICTIONS
The following baits are prohibited;
Ground Bait
Boilies
Bloodworm
Paste
Liquidised Bait
Trout Pellets
Floating Baits (including bread)
Chum Mixer
Artificial colouring of loose feed
Hemp seed
BAIT RULES The following rules apply to all bait;
Meat in cube form only
All bait must be in boxes - no tin cans allowed on site
Max 5 pints per match (to include a maximum of 2 pints of feed pellet if using them)
ie. 1 pint of feed pellets
1 pint of maggots
1 pint of castors
1 tin of meat (300g)
1 tin of sweet corn (340g)
Or
2 pints of feed pellets
1 pint of worms
2 pints of maggots
Clarification on specific baits
1. FEED PELLET
All feed pellet must be purchased on the day of match when paying match entrance fee - you will be given a ticket to enable you to collect them from the tackle shop
Restriction of 2 pints of pellet per match
Observations will be made to ascertain that pellet users have purchased their pellet from Moorlands and if necessary checks will be made
Feed Pellets may be dampened but must remain pellet form (not made into paste or ground bait)
2. HOOK BAIT
The use of cat meat, macaroni cheese, bread on hook, is for Hook bait only, strictly no feeding of these baits
No limit on hook bait
3. CHOPPED WORM & CASTER
All worms must be washed (not in pools)
Chopped worm and caster can be submerged in pool water only in bait bowls - when feeding from bait bowls water must remain in the bowl. No cupping in water from bait bowls of any sort allowed
FISHING TECHNIQUES The following rules apply to techniques allowed;
Poles must be supported above water whilst loose feeding
No pole splashing or tapping of any nature permitted
No washing out of pole pots
During windy weather conditions 1 - 2 metres of pole tip may be submerged in the water
Artificial colouring of loose feed is prohibited
MATCH RULES All matches restricted to 5 hours (unless prior arrangements have been made)
All nets must be dipped on arrival
Two keep nets to be used - one for Silver fish
Keep net code must be adhered to at all times
Any mistreatment of fish will result in automatic disqualification
All bait to be used must be displayed at the start and during the match
Barbless hooks only (max 14)
No open ended feeders
No unused bait to be thrown into pools at the end of the match
Raking or disturbing of the bottom not allowed
No Method Feeder or Braid
At the owners discretion their will be six peg checks randomly drawn to ensure compliance of bait rules. Periodical observations of matches in progress will be made - anyone found to be breaking any of the fishery rules will immediately be disqualified from the match. The person in question will be allowed to enter further matches however they will for their next 5 matches have mandatory checks imposed. Any further breaking of match rules will result in a lifetime ban from matches
